《高山流水》是著名的典故,讲的是春秋时,伯牙擅抚古琴,却无知音,时值中秋,明月高悬,伯牙乘舟傍于山边弹琴,每抚一曲,山上就有人讲出乐曲的内容和演奏的情感。伯牙志在高山,此人即曰:“巍之乎若高山。”伯牙志在流水,此人即曰:“洋洋乎若流水。”二人遂为知交。听琴者乃钟子期,一樵夫也。后来伯牙多次寻访子期不遇,叹无知音,将琴砸碎了。后人将“高山流水”比作知音,也说明世间知音之难得。
